WimpyButton Plugin/Mambot
|

Very simply, when I was looking for an easy and quick way to add playable mp3 links to a client’s music store in Joomla, I couldn’t find one!
I figured there would HAVE to be an easy Wimpy plugin in Joomla that would do it, and when I didn’t find one, I thought I should whip one up!
Installation
* Download the Plugin
* Install the plugin using the Mambot Install in Joomla
* Download the latest version of Wimpy Button.
If you haven’t used Wimpy before, download the Trial version
and use it to test and configure the player. Then, buy
a license! Last I checked, it was less than $20.
* Extract and upload the Wimpy Button to your server
* Activate and Configure the Plugin
From the Admin menu,
chooseMambots &rquo; Site Mambots &rquo; wimpybutton,
then configure the plugin parameter “Player File Location”
to point to the location of the Wimpy Button you just uploaded.
Publish the Plugin and save. You can also modify the styles
to match your site.
* Place the Plugin code around your mp3 url, and you’re done!
{wimpybutton}/music/Radiohead/06 Faust Arp.MP3{/wimpybutton}
Let me know what you think, if you all like it, I’ll keep working on it and perhaps make another. Now, remember, Wimpy needs a license, but it’s money WELL spent!

A simple bot, to insert Viddler video to Joomla! content. This is my first extension for Joomla! This will be the first plug-in for Viddler/Joomla! It has only been tested on my server with Joomla! 1.0.13.
I have to give credit where credit is due. I used the Stage6 plug-in and altered the code to fit Viddler codes. Please comment here if you see any issues or have any suggestions. This is my first and I am still learning PHP, so please be nice
"Viddler is a fresh, creative web application that lets you upload, enhance, and share digital video quickly and easily inside your web browser." Quote from http://www.viddler.com/
Example: My video is: {viddler username|videoID|videoCODE}
Viddler URL: http://www.viddler.com/explore/username/videos/videoID/
Viddler URL: http://www.viddler.com/explore/labanex/videos/15/
To get the video code, you must click on Embed video button on the Viddler page, look for http://www.viddler.com/player/2937518a/ in the code. Copy the code that in between the "/" slashes, like 2937518a.
Example of how it should look: {viddler labanex|15|2937518a}
{viddler **|**|**} = viddler is small case letters...
Files: viddlerbot.php and viddlerbot.xml

Utterz Embed Player Bot for Joomla

Utterz is like Twitter but with voice. You can call in, leave a message, and it is posted. You can also post pictures and leave text as well. Utterz is not as popular as Twitter, but there is no comparison on who is better either. Utterz is it's own entity.
Download both plugins, the Bot and the Bot Button. Install them into you mambot manager in your Joomla! admin. A button at the bottom of your editor will allow you to insert Utterz embed player into your Joomla content.
Example: {utterz labanex|NDk5NDAxNg|UtterzJoomla Mambot}
Breakdown: {utterz username|utterzID|title}
That is it!

Seesmic Video Bot

Seesmic is like a video Twitter. Because it is in PRIVATE BETA mode, it is not easy signing up for the site. You have to be invited. I was just invited this morning (of this post) and decided to create a mambot for Joomla! featuring Seesmic. The mambot is easy to use. All you have to do is insert the videocode from the URL.

QTube

QTube is a simple plugin designed to perform a very simple task: embedding YouTube hosted videos in a Joomla! content item. I'm aware that there are plugins that allow you to include videos from many other sources, but when all the videos you need are hosted at YouTube you can take advantage of QTube's small footprint. The plugin supports some parameters to allow you to configure the look and feel of the video container object. Default values for all these parameters can be set from plugin administration area. Let's say you want the same width and height for all the videos on your site; specify these parameters once and for all in the plugin backend and you won't need to include them in any plugin command string. Finally the pages containing your videos can be valid XHTML Transitional because the HTML code generated by QTube doesn't contain the tag unlike the code provided at YouTube site (at least the last time I checked).
