Whats Today is a component wich shows the Events of the day. The component works with the day and the month, so it is perfect for a birthday-component. Please unpack the zip-file, because there is also an module wich show the todays event and the year of it. Module which counts down until an event. It takes the current time from the server and counts down until a user defined event.

Parameters:

• year, month, day, hour, minute and second of the event
• offset of the server (handy if your server is in a different time zone)
• 5 different formats to show the countdown
• leading and tailing text
  

This module is for joomla 1.5 only (legacy plugin not needed)!

Next release will contain support for multiple languages and the possibility to have a yearly or monthly counter

UH_Events is an event management system initially created for a german public utility institution. Events can be arranged in categories and sub categories. Export to OpenOffice is possible for each publishing target separately. Features include online registration (where applicable), misc display layouts depending on the related menu item, routing, ...

This extension is in used in a production environment, but due to some hicups which occured (known bugs are already fixed) in the installation I (the project admin) want to be a bit more conservative by giving the Release a pre 1.x release number. So if you pass the installation w/o problems, there should be no problems beside creating menu entries pointing to the component. ;-)

Features

The Module provides a basic Moon phase information based on fairly accurate algorithms. The following features are currently offered:
Shows an image of the current Moon phase.
Shows the common name of that Moon phase.
Shows begin of biblical month and Ekadashi
Shows current Moon percentage illumination.
Shows number of days till next "Full" or "New" state, till next biblical month or till next Ekadashi.

This Module lists the today's events from the JEvents component. JEvents component needs to be installed.

It accepts these parameters:

Module Class Suffix: global css module.
Event image: please select a small image (like an icon) with path (the root is "stories"), for the event's row (see the demo).
Module Class for module table: css for the inner table.
Calendar image: please select an image for a nice global show of "today there's an event" (the root is "stories"). See the demo.
If there're no events in program today, the module shows nothing.
If today there's more than one event the big image link redirects to the summary of the day, and the single row for event links to the event.

If none of the parameters are set the module (if there's an event for today) shows a simple list of events with no images. 

Module for displaying current or currently events, based on the day of the week and hour.

JoomEvents is based a Joomla 1.0 component that allows users to add events directly by specifying the location, date, category etc. The component is an extension of the EventsList component from http://www.schluh.net. The EventsList component had this limitation that the administrator first has to add the location, category etc and users can add events only after that. Also he JoomEvents component provides the feature to feature events in a separate band above the other events. This would allow events from paid users to receive greater visibility.
